Booking the Kuwait MOH Exam on Prometric: Steps, Contacts and Unpublished Fees

The confirmed booking mechanics for the Kuwait MOH exam are short: a Prometric scheduler and a test centre. This guide labels each point stated, lead or not published, and lists the questions to ask the Ministry before you pay anything.

Clinician holding a stethoscope

Prometric lists the Kuwait Ministry of Health exam as a Test Center Exam, available at Prometric test centres worldwide, and you use the Prometric scheduler to find a seat, schedule, confirm, reschedule or cancel. The exam fee is not published on the Prometric exam page or the blueprint, so we state no figure. Eligibility, the document list and the way clearance reaches you are not set out on the pages we could verify. This guide gives the booking mechanics that are confirmed, labels every other point by evidence level, and lists what to ask the Ministry. All pages were read on 25 October 2026.

Evidence levels used on this page

Booking pages attract more rumour than any other exam topic, so we mark every point.

The booking route, step by step

  1. Confirm your licensing route with the Ministry (stated for the department, lead for the details). The Medical Licensing Department issues health licences in Kuwait, with pharmacy handled separately. Prometric publishes its contact mailbox, open Sunday to Thursday, 8am to 2pm. Ask what applies to your degree, experience and employer.
  2. Get cleared to test (not published). The Prometric pages do not explain how clearance reaches a candidate. Ask what document or message you should receive and from whom.
  3. Open the Prometric scheduler (stated). Prometric describes functions to locate a test centre, schedule, confirm, reschedule and cancel.
  4. Choose a date and centre (stated in part). The exam is a Test Center Exam, available at Prometric centres worldwide. The pages we read do not list the centres or say how far ahead seats open.
  5. Pay (not published). The fee, the payment method and who pays are not on the pages we read. Pay only through a channel that the Ministry or Prometric gives you in writing.
  6. Keep the confirmation (good practice). Save the confirmation and check your name against your ID.

Everything in step 2 and step 5 is a question to put to the Ministry, not a procedure we can describe. If someone sells you a shortcut, a "guaranteed seat" or a lower fee, treat it as a warning sign.

Fees: what we can and cannot say

The Prometric exam page and the blueprint document do not publish an exam fee. A consultancy site we reviewed also says that no official fee is published. We therefore state no figure, and we advise you to disregard a figure quoted without a source.

Who pays (you or your employer)Not published; settle it before you start

Because costs are unknown, the useful move is to ask the Medical Licensing Department for the current fee schedule and to ask your prospective employer who pays each item. Keep the reply as an email. If the answer changes, you will have evidence of what you were told and when.

MedPass Exams does not set, collect or advise on Ministry or Prometric fees, and nothing on this page is a price. Do not send money to anyone claiming to book the Kuwait exam on your behalf unless the Ministry has told you in writing that this is the route.

Contacting the right office

The two offices do different jobs, and sending a question to the wrong one wastes time.

Leads you will see online, and how to treat them

Several consultancy sites describe a longer licensing process than the Prometric pages show. The points below are repeated often. None is backed by an official document that we could read, so each remains a lead.

  • The process is initiated by an employer through a Ministry portal.
  • General practitioners need a minimum period of post-qualification experience.
  • Supporting documents include a criminal record check, a vaccination record and an employer letter on a Ministry template.
  • Some holders of senior postgraduate qualifications may be considered for exemption case by case.
  • Specialists and consultants face an interview in addition to the exam.
  • The whole process can take several months.

Treat them as questions: "Does the employer-led route apply to me? What experience do you require? Which documents do you need, and in what format?" Our eligibility and licensing route guide goes through them in more detail.

Timing your booking against your preparation

Booking dates also interact with your life outside the exam: leave, visa steps, a notice period at your current hospital and the start date of a new post. Write these on one page beside your study plan so that a failed attempt does not catch you with a contract that depends on a pass.

Booking involves a trade-off. Book early and a fixed date focuses your study. Book late and you may wait for a seat, and delay your licence. The rule we suggest is to choose a date range, not a date, and to confirm the booking only when two timed mixed practice blocks have reached your target. The study plan guide sets out a 70% working target.

  • Allow for the six-week minimum between attempts in the blueprint. A first attempt that fails pushes any second attempt out by at least that long.
  • Check the rescheduling and cancellation conditions in your own confirmation. The Kuwait pages we read do not set a notice period, and we will not assume one.
  • Work back from any employment start date. If your post depends on a licence, plan for the licensing steps after the exam, which are also not described in detail.

A short email to send before you do anything else

One clear email can settle most of the unknowns on this page. Send it to the Medical Licensing Department at the address Prometric publishes for it, in plain English, with your full name as on your passport and your qualification details. Ask, in numbered questions, for the following.

  1. Eligibility. Which qualification, registration and experience requirements apply to the General Practitioner paper for my situation?
  2. Documents. Which documents are required, in which format, and who must submit them?
  3. Fees. What is the current fee for the exam and for each licensing step, how is it paid and who pays it?
  4. Booking. How will I be cleared to schedule with Prometric, and how long does clearance stay valid?
  5. Results. How and when are results released, and how long does a pass remain valid?
  6. Attempts. Please confirm the three-attempt, six-week rule in the current blueprint and say what happens after a third failure.

Ask for the reply in writing and save it with the date. If you do not hear back, follow up once after a reasonable time, then rely on the official pages only. Do not pay an intermediary to answer these questions for you.

Common booking mistakes

  • Paying before you have a written fee. Without a quote, you have no record of what you agreed to.
  • Booking the earliest seat. A date chosen for convenience, not readiness, wastes an attempt.
  • Assuming the exam centre is nearby. Check the list of centres for your country before you plan travel.
  • Using an unofficial agent. Agents cannot change the pass mark or secure a seat, and some charge for information that is free.
  • Forgetting the clock. Clearance, licences and employer start dates can all expire. Ask about validity at the start.

What to bring and check before you pay

  1. Name match. Make sure the name on your registration with the Ministry and the name on your ID are identical.
  2. ID type. Ask which ID is accepted at your test centre. Do not assume a national ID is enough.
  3. Centre details. Check the address, opening hours and any local rules for personal items.
  4. Written fee quote. Obtain the amount and the payment channel in writing.
  5. Change policy. Read the cancellation and rescheduling terms before you click confirm.

For the day itself, see the exam day guide, and for the results stage the retakes and after-the-exam guide.

Frequently asked questions

How do I book the Kuwait MOH exam?

Prometric lists the exam as a Test Center Exam and describes a scheduler to find a seat, schedule, confirm, reschedule or cancel. How clearance to test reaches a candidate is not described on the pages we read, so ask the Medical Licensing Department what you should receive first.

How much does the Kuwait MOH exam cost?

The fee is not published on the Prometric exam page or the blueprint, so we give no figure. Ask the Medical Licensing Department for the current fee schedule, and ignore numbers quoted without an official source.

Where can I sit the Kuwait MOH exam?

Prometric describes it as a Test Center Exam available at Prometric centres worldwide. The pages we read do not list the centres. Use the Prometric scheduler to see which centres offer the exam near you.

Can I book the exam myself?

The pages we read do not say who initiates the process. Consultancy sites describe an employer-led route, but they cite no official document. Ask the Medical Licensing Department whether you or your employer begins the process.

Who do I contact about the exam?

Contact the Medical Licensing Department for eligibility, fees and licensing, and Prometric customer service for scheduling problems. Prometric lists customer service hours as Sunday to Thursday, 8am to 5pm GMT+3, and the Department's hours as Sunday to Thursday, 8am to 2pm.

Can I reschedule or cancel?

Prometric describes rescheduling and cancelling in its scheduler. The notice period and any charges are not set out on the pages we read, so read the terms in your own confirmation before you pay.

Is there an employer letter or other required document?

Some consultancy sites mention an employer letter on a Ministry template, a criminal record check and a vaccination record. None cites an official document. Ask the Ministry for the current document list.
